The Asia-Pacific region has experienced very rapid economic growth. This dynamism, however, contributes to exacerbating the inequalities within the population. It is particularly the case in Indonesia and Vietnam where many people still live in extreme poverty with very limited access to education and training. Faced with this situation, Saf Indonusa and Saf Viet, subsidiaries of Lesaffre in both these countries, undertook to support the “Life Project 4 Youths” (LP4Y) programme, which enables young people from poor communities to benefit from practical training and work experience (in particular bread making) followed by support in the long term. This programme aims to facilitate their social and professional integration so that they can improve their living conditions and those of their families.
